Actually, the needy lady, Julie Rogers, 45, from Hindley, suffering from the polycystic kidney disease, which has already killed her grandfather, great aunt and aunt.
According to doctors, Julie’s kidney was totally damaged and needed a healthy kidney to live.
At this critical situation, another lady, Helen Cavanagh, 51, who was workmate of Julie at the Royal Bank of Scotland, came up and offered to undergo the surgeon’s knife to donate her own healthy organ.
This incident was typically unusual for the hospital, hence all the nurses and doctors seemed surprised.
