Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney were the pinnacle of celebrity love and happiness (like the opposite of Taylor Swift and whoever she’s dating atm) before rumors of their breakup rocked our world. While either party has yet to officially comment, the singer has been enjoying some time off in Mexico and doing some humanitarian work.
Taylor proposed on Valentine’s Day previous year but they reportedly called it off a month ago.
In fact, as recently as February, Gaga thanked Taylor for helping her come to terms with and move past sexual abuse. “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day and I said YES!” she later told fans on Instagram.
Sharing a black and white shot of the pair locking arms, the 30-year-old wrote “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates”.
Lady Gaga confirmed the split on her Instagram account. The second source added, “They both love each other very much and they want it to work. It’s just been tough with the long distance”.
Just before the proposal a year ago, Lady Gaga told Howard Stern: “I really can’t imagine being with anyone other than who I’m with right now”.
However, due to their “complicated schedules” the couple been “taking a break”. In case you forgot, the Poker Face artist and The Vampire Diaries alum first met while filming GaGa’s music video You And I back in 2011.

The couple was engaged last year and were in a relationship for five years. Kinney, 35, works on “Chicago Fire” in, unsurprisingly, Chicago. She said “We don’t have any rules about calling each other at certain times, we’ll go days at a time without talking and then we’ll talk every day”. We talked about shootings.
