All of Lady Gaga’s little monsters were devastated to hear the news on Tuesday (July 19) that she and her fiance, Taylor Kinney, had broken off their engagement.

In 2013, Gaga told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that Kenney, best known for his role on drama series Chicago Fire, was both her lover and best friend, describing the combination as “the best thing ever”.
A source said at the time: “Gaga and Taylor were hanging out at the bar and Taylor looked kind of sheepish, like nearly any guy would be, where he’s with his future in-laws and she’s showing off the ring”.

The couple met in 2011 on the set of Gaga’s music video for “You and I”, in which Kinney co-starred. “I’m just proud. I just wanted her to take her time and really just enjoy the moment for what it was”, he told People in February. Please root on us.
She added: “We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other”. Kinney spent his 35th birthday without the singer, and on that same day, she was spotted without her engagement ring. In fact, Kinney turned down the chance to present at the Golden Globes so that all attention could be on Gaga.
In a 2014 interview with Howard Stern, Gaga said she could see a future with Kinney. Perhaps the two of them will get back together like before. The two began dating months down the road. Sources close to the couple said that they would like to keep quiet about the breakup. TMZ reports that the couple split earlier this month after five years together.

Gaga and Taylor had been engaged just over a year. After the “Born This Way” singer and Taylor officially called it quits, she got away with girlfriends on a trip to Cabo San Lucas to deal with the split.
