As revealed during the event, Bomer will play the character named Donovan, Peters will be Mr. March, Paulson as Hypodermic Sally and Bates is Iris.
Speculations suggest that Bomer and Wittrock’s characters will be involved in a romantic love triangle with Lady Gaga, who will be making her major debut on TV with the upcoming ‘Hotel.’.
“She [Lady Gaga] said, ‘I want to be evil, ‘” Murphy recalled at SDCC of his meeting with the singer.

While each season of American Horror Story has followed a separate cast of characters, in a different location, severals fans have postulated that the seasons are connected, and that they all take place “in the same world”. Adding, “You know part of her role involves fashion”.
Casting Gaga “was one of the weirdest things in my career, ever”, Murphy said at the forum, revealing that she emailed him personally asking, “Would you consider putting me on it?” This season will be the first time we don’t see Jessica Lange in a role since the series started, but Lady Gaga should more than fill the shoes as she is stalked through the halls of this mysterious hotel.

Meanwhile, the other cast of the show joined Murphy during the SDCC 2015 panel, and they revealed their character names for the upcoming season.
