Lady Gaga bowled over by Superbowl performance

Lots of people watching the Super Bowl at home were shocked that Lady Gaga could “sing like that”.

Starting with Lady Gaga’s stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner”, Super Bowl 50 put some of the biggest acts in music on the world’s most televised stage.

Lady Gaga has revealed what was going through her mind when performing the USA national anthem at the NFL Super Bowl on Sunday (February 7). “It took crooning with Tony Bennett and singing with Julie Andrews at the Oscars for the rest of the world to catch on to the transgressive powers of her talent”. She started out powerfully and with conviction and carried that through, keeping a realistic pace and resisting the natural inclination by so many popstars to carry every note on for way too long.

Oscar-winning actress Marlee Matlin performed both the anthem and “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language.

No one will ever be able to top Whitney Houston’s national anthem performance at the Super Bowl in 1991, considering the legendary singer honored her country during actual war time.

The Born This Way singer was a big hit as she belted out The Star-Spangled banner like a true diva at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and her operatic performance instantly set social media alight as fans and peers showered her with praise.

Speaking of American, Gaga went 110% patriotic with her outfit, stepping out in a glittery red Gucci suit with matching eye shadow and platform heels adorned with the American flag.

Not exactly as composed as she had appeared earlier, the singer got playful with her fluffy friends as she got down on her hands and knees.

She also raved about her Super Bowl 50 experience and described it as “really incredible”.

Oh, and here she is dancing along to Coldplay’s halftime show, which also saw the brilliant Beyoncé perform her latest surprise track Formation. “I think the best way to do that is to forget about yourself, and just focus on what it means”. She scored higher than either team, at least in the hearts and minds of awestricken football fans.
