Lady Gaga, Florence Welch Recorded a Song Together

Lady Gaga returned to pop with the scorching disco-rock jam “Perfect Illusion” Thursday, and the track sees the star reviving her solo career after mixed reactions to her experimental 2013 LP Artpop.

On the track, Gaga sings about blindly believing she was in love-however, eventually realizing it was “just a ideal illusion”. That the song was co-written with producers Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker, and BloodPop, who recently collaborated with Justin Bieber and Kendrick Lamar.

The singer revealed her album art on Twitter before the song dropped on Tuesday night, showing a tougher, more militant Gaga. I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl.

“I don’t need your eyes to see/ I felt you touching me/ High like amphetamine/ Maybe you’re just a dream”, she sings.

She’s really, to me, if not the greatest vocalist in the world.

Reminiscent of hit songs Bad Romance and Poker Face, Perfect Illusion just might be another step in Gaga’s musical evolution. “We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it”, she said. “This is about accepting that and letting go”. There are also a lot of things on the internet that are not reality.
