Lady Gaga performs lovely rendition of national anthem
It’s a powerful instrument and she used it to her full advantage while rocking a red sequined pantsuit and matching red eye shadow.

It has been a big year for Gaga, who is nominated in the category for the Best Original Song for Till It Happens to You from the documentary The Hunting Ground.
She also revealed how she prepared to sing what is traditionally a hard song. In an odd coincidence Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Gene Simmons chose the word “solid” to express their appreciation of Lady Gaga’s fantastic voice, while others were a bit more descriptive of their emotions.
She belted out The Star-Spangled Banner during the annual sporting event, which takes place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California today (NZ time), in what she described as one of the “highest honours” of her career.
Lots of people watching the Super Bowl at home were shocked that Lady Gaga could “sing like that”. Skip to 0:37 of the video below to get started.
Last year, “The Star Spangled Banner” was performed by Idina Menzel, while previous singers include Renee Fleming, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood.
Fallon argues that the singer of the National Anthem reflects what’s going on in the larger society and that the choice of singer feeds into our national needs.
Her vocal performance – technically excellent – matched her attire. For some reason anyone singing makes me cry, but Gaga had the tears flowing tonight.
Actress Marlee Maitlin performed the anthem in American sign language along with the six-time Grammy victor. More straight-ahead than not, but with a few dramatic curve-balls, especially toward the climax, with some big gospel flourishes to bring things to a rip-roaring finish as U.S. Navy Blue Angels flew in formation over her head.

Before Gaga took center stage, an Armed Forces chorus sang “America the lovely”.
