The special guests who will be appearing with Coldplay are wonderful artists in their own right, with ample experience in the Super Bowl stage; Beyoncé and Bruno Mars are among the ones Martin confirmed. The band will be joined by Beyonce.
The NFC champion Carolina Panthers (17-1) meet the AFC champion Denver Broncos (14-4) in this year’s Super Bowl, played at the home of the San Francisco 49ers.
Gaga’s Super Bowl performance continues a winning streak for the singer in the ashes of her last solo album, 2013’s “Artpop”, which was widely panned. In January she took home a Golden Globe award for her role on “American Horror Story: Hotel”. Here is a performance they gave at those Grammy awards, leaving little doubt that Gaga has the pipes to handle “The Star-Spangled Banner”. It’s unknown if the Grammys will also remember Natalie Cole, Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, and Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane, who’ve all passed away since the start of 2016.
“We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year’s show, but when David passed – nearly in a single moment – we knew we had to change direction”, Ehrlich explained in a statement.

The only question is: Will Gaga go full-on Patriot Icon in that stars-and-stripes getup from her “Telephone” video?
