Super Bowl 50 airs at 6:30 ET on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 7.

The Grammy winner’s performance will be televised live before the game, and is generally one of the most talked about moments of the whole game.

Last year, Gaga wowed audiences at the Oscars when she paid tribute to “The Sound of Music” with a show-stopping performance.

Every year at the Super Bowl, one of the biggest singers in the world always takes center stage to sing the national anthem.

Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich said: “We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year’s show, but when David passed – nearly in a single moment – we knew we had to change direction”.

The news comes from The Associated Press, who also reports that Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin will perform the Star-Spangled Banner simultaneously in sign language.
