Lakers: Franchise’s 5 Best Moments in Celtics Rivalry
Sometimes great opponents like Kobe Bryant (even if he’s old) will step up to the moment and shatter the hopes and dreams of Celtics fans of all ages. “I grew up a really big historian of the game and understanding Boston’s history, the players – many different players, championships won”.

Some may be surprised that Bryant and the Lakers were able to pull off the win against the Celtics.
The Lakers put on their best performance of the season on Wednesday in Boston, where they defeated the Celtics 112-104. “Appreciation, because I certainly appreciate them, and then some heavy booing”.
“It was unbelievable”, Bryant said. And Bryant greatly appreciated the gesture, even when they began to boo him once the game started.
But those warm and fuzzy moments soon faded. He produced 16 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, along with two steals and a season-high tying five blocks.
Me: “Well, maybe that was a little bit of an overreaction to a free throw”. Whether or not those came from the large contingent of L.A. faithful, Celtics fans should’ve figured out a way to drown those out.
With Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen all in Boston, the Celtics were right in the hunt every year come playoff time.
Clarkson, 10 of 15 from the floor with 24 points, scored eight straight points during a 21-5 third-quarter run that gave the Lakers a 14-point lead. This game wasn’t close, Dallas led by as many as 30 and won 114-91.
Celtics: F David Lee returned after missing the last two games with a sore lower back. Then, the Celtics fans gave Abdul-Jabbar a 95-second standing ovation. Thomas leads in points with 20.7 and in assists with 6.8 per game. “It’s got to be on us getting better”, coach Brad Stevens said. For the first time in forever the Lakers don’t have a superstar on the roster, and with Jerry Buss’s passing they’re no longer one of the smartest franchises in the league.
Now, by that, I do not mean that I hate Kobe Bryant the person because I don’t know the man. But I sure do hate Kobe Bryant the basketball player.
Unlike Abdul-Jabbar, Bryant has not received any public displays of gifts at his request.
“I’m not used to the applause”.
“Absolutely will”, Bryant said.
This is one of those rare venues for Bryant.
That visit included a pregame tribute from Hornets owner Michael Jordan. “If they chose to draft me I was going to carry this franchise the way they deserved to be”. But I didn’t think it was from lack of effort or anything like that. From a competitive standpoint, I’m pretty sure you’re just like me.
Bryant has missed three of the past four meetings and made his lone appearance in that stretch at the Garden in a 113-96 loss December 5, 2014.
Did Bryant listen to those songs again before his last stop?
“I think once I commit to attacking, for sure”, he said. “I don’t need that anymore”.

For Bryant himself, the game did not go well. “So he just wants to try to get it under control as much as possible before he plays again”. It was a special victory for the Purple & Gold, since the occasion marked Kobe Bryant’s last-ever outing in Boston. Bryant heard endless chants of “Kobe, Kobe”.
