Lakers lose in Kobe Bryant’s last Christmas game
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will miss at least two weeks with a partially torn quad tendon, the team announced on Saturday.

Despite the injury, Griffin finished the game, tallying 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes.
He will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Kobe Bryant usually has monster games on Christmas Day – was his own yearly tradition, if you will – but not this time around against the Los Angeles Clippers. “We were really looking forward to it. Most of the time you enjoy the time in the morning with your family, but for that game, we were all a little chippy”.
Not that it matters in the slightest, but the Lakers will be the home team in this matchup on Christmas Day, which will also be the final time Lakers fans will see Kobe Bryant in a holiday matchup. “I said, ‘You know, Metta, I’m so damn happy we won that 2010 Finals, dude, because I’d be sick as [expletive] sitting here right now [if we didn’t]”.
The Clippers grabbed a 60-44 lead at the half, outshooting the Lakers 51.1 percent to 41.7 percent. Randolph had his most productive game since joining the reserves with 18 points and 12 rebounds in 33 minutes at Charlotte on Saturday and has scored in double figures in three straight games.
When the Clippers brought their starters back, it was basically game over for the Lakers.
Then the cycle continues season after season until players reach the point in their career that Bryant is at now. All but one of those baskets came after halftime.
Utah cut the lead back to two at 79-77 when Trey Burke and Ingles each drained 3-pointers to fuel a 7-0 run to close out the third quarter.
“The Clippers were without Griffin for 15 games last season as he recovered from staph infection and they went 9-6 in that stretch”.
There were no lead changes and the game was tied only once, at 2-2.
“Kobe’s a guy that’s done so much for this league and has such a big imprint on the game of basketball for the past 20 years”, Griffin said Friday.
The Clippers have established themselves as LA’s top basketball team this season, so it should come as no surprise that they were able to muster a 94-84 win over the Lakers last night.

With no Griffin and Smith, apparently, not an option, Rivers turned to Pierce, and the 38-year-old turned in his best game of the season. He helped the Clippers improve to 17-13 and fend off a late charge from the Lakers. “They just need a window and they’re clutch players”.
