Lakers will buy out Nick Young’s contract if they can’t trade him
Several rumors suggest excitement about a potential Jeremy Lin-Nick Young backcourt partnership in Brooklyn, although it remains to be seen whether the Nets are truly interested in acquiring the mercurial Los Angeles native.

Life as a Los Angeles Laker doesn’t seem as swaggy as it used to be for guard Nick Young. The relationship of the two deteriorated following the whole Snapchat, Iggy Azalea, cheating situation.
While D’Angelo Russell was viewed as the villain in the situation, the Los Angeles Lakers made the business decision to side with their 20-year-old point guard. They’ve been trying to trade him for a while, they’re still trying to trade him, they are willing to even buy him out if necessary to move on and really commit to the youth movement and let D’Angelo Russell do his thing. All teams have until the August 31 deadline to release players using the stretch provision. Will the Lakers keep him in the roster at the start of the season or will Nick Young be waived?
While no National Basketball Association teams are allowed to express interest in Nick Young, do not be surprised if the former USC Trojans star tries to get himself a spot on the Los Angeles Clippers bench.
Young, who averaged 7.3 points per game a year ago for the Lakers, is a guard known for his offense and can help the Nets in that area.
The Lakers has hired the services of former Golden State Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton as the team’s newest head coach for the upcoming season. The NBA team has been trying to deal the veteran guard to no avail.
Henry’s first year with the Lakers was during the 2013-14 season when he averaged 10 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and one steal per contest. The Lakers are projected to be the worst team in the Western Conference. They have a great future with Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram.
Nonetheless, the Nets reportedly do not consist of equally talented trade assets to offer to the Lakers.

In a recent interview with LA Daily News, Young downplayed concerns that his personal conflict with Russell will affect the chemistry department of the Lakers in the incoming season.
