Lakers Win Shortened Preseason Game Against Warriors

The Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 85-70 in a game Saturday that was abbreviated because of a slippery court in San Diego.

The San Diego Gulls, an AHL team, play in the arena and there was reportedly condensation from the ice surface that was on the court.

Coach Steve Kerr attended shootaround but not the game as he remains on his leave of absence.

Said Warriors center Marreese Speights: “It was bad”.

Stephen Curry doesn’t care who is standing in front of him. Golden State only shot 38 percent from the floor, although Stephen Curry shot 50 percent from behind the arc en route to 19 points in a little over 22 minutes. Ezeli Festus totaled 10 points and nine rebounds, while Jason Thompson had a game-high 11 rebounds.

But Julius Randle was an even bigger issue for the Warriors, as he refused to back down against Defensive Player of the Year runner-up Draymond Green.

Marcelo Huertas made his debut for the Lakers tonight, scoring 4 points on 2-2 shooting with 6 assists. “We don’t want anyone getting hurt, especially when it’s this time in the preseason and you can have a significant injury to one of the players playing major minutes for you”. Coach Scott basically used a different lineup for each quarter.

Rookie D’Angelo Russell rocked a new haircut and also played just 12 minutes from the field. He was distributing with efficiency, as he only turned the ball over once.

Play had been temporarily stopped in the first half due to wet spots on the court.

Bryant was to receive additional treatment today at the team’s practice facility in El Segundo, then return to his Orange County home, coach Byron Scott told reporters Friday at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

Metta World Peace is not guaranteed a spot, but has worked hard to earn a job.

Clarkson scored 17 points on 7-9 shooting. He also included a sweet block on James Michael McAdoo to conclude his night. The Warriors, on the other hand, couldn’t find enough offense outside of Curry.

Nance, who finished with eight points, said, “That was my first National Basketball Association dunk”.

Before the stoppage, the Lakers were playing perhaps their best of the preseason.
