Lalu Prasad downplays Shahabuddin’s ‘paristhitiyon ke neta’ remark, slams media
“Lalu Prasad is our leader and there can not be a debate on this”, senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said today, a day after controversial former MP of the party Mohammed Shahabuddin termed Nitish Kumar a “CM of circumstances”, laying bare the divide in Bihar’s ruling alliance. It is a free-for-all between the two major partners RJD and JD (U) leaders.

While Lalu did not see anything very bad in what Shahabuddin said, the RJD chief didn’t appreciate Raghubansh Prasad Singh’s comments on Kumar. On this note, he said that he would speak to everybody within the party and tell them categorically not to make unnecessary comments about the coalition.
Taking a dig at Nitish Kumar, Hussain said, “After coming out of jail, Shahabuddin described (Rashtriya Janata Dal chief) Lalu (Prasad) as his leader while he termed Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister of circumstances which clearly describes the condition of the state”. “Yes, it’s right that Nitish Kumar is a Chief Minister of circumstances…”
The RJD president, however, defended party strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin, saying he did not made any derogatory comments.RJD president, however, defended party strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin, saying he did not made any derogatory comments.
Asked why the government did not challenge Shahabuddin’s bail, Neeraj said: “Everything will happen in an appropriate time.”? He has been in the jail for 11 years under Nitish Kumar regime. Shahabuddin may have to face the barracks again after being released from jail last week. The state is run by a coalition comprising JD (U), RJD and the Congress.
Choudhary said it was unfair of the RJD to criticise Nitish Kumar despite being a part of the state government and the ruling alliance. Bijendra Yadav said the Grand Secular Alliance came to power to fulfil the promises of the “seven resolves” of the Chief Minister which have been adopted as the “policy of governance”.
