On Tuesday night, tragic news broke that former Los Angeles Clippers player and two-time National Basketball Association champion with the Lakers Lamar Odom was found unconscious before being stabilized and taken to hospital.

Odom, who was embraced by teammates and television fans alike for his Everyman approach to fame, was found face down and alone Tuesday after spending four days at the Love Ranch, a legal Nevada brothel.

People always seemed to root for Odom, whose prematurely weathered face wore the impact of his personal tragedies in a friendly way.
Lamar Odom was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after two of the brothel girls found him collapsed in his room at around 3:15 p.m. He reportedly had “mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth”. Lamar has been struggling since July, and sources said he “had a hard time letting go of” Khloe.

The brothel’s owner, Dennis Hof, said that, during his three-day stay, Odom had been taking large amounts of “herbal Viagra”, a nonprescription product which can dramatically lower blood pressure and interact with other medications. Many members of the reality TV family have gathered at Odom’s bedside and around his ex-wife Khloé Kardashian, who is said to be “inconsolable” and has banned cameras from the hospital.

The 6-foot-10-inch, about 230-pound Odom was too big to be transported by helicopter to Las Vegas.

Still, Odom’s behavior increasingly anxious family and friends. Kardashian and Odom were married in 2009, but Kardashian filed for divorce in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.

When cameras caught up with Odom on a sidewalk in August, he blamed the media for his downfall. “You will not do it again”, Odom told TMZ in an interview. “I know he’s in God’s hands”. Kardashian has been by his side at a Las Vegas hospital.
