One week after waking up from a medically induced coma, former National Basketball Association player Lamar Odom’s recovery from drug overdose appears to have suffered a setback.

Odom’s estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has remained by his side since he was hospitalized on Tuesday, October 13.

Police also cited Odom’s “prior history of illicit narcotics use” and that Odom’s personal assistant indicated he “has actually witnessed Mr. Odom under the influence of narcotics”.

Meanwhile, Khloe officially called off her divorce from Lamar in court in Los Angeles this week because she felt it was “the most sensible thing to do”.

“In SINCERELY loving Lamar, we truly love and respect whomever he loves”, said the statement from spokeswoman Alvina Alston, sent to the Daily News.

“Her mom and sisters are very anxious for her, they’re anxious about her health”, a source told the site.

Doctors have banned all visitors, except Kardashian, from the former Laker’s hospital room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills, according to sources who talked to Entertainment Tonight.

Khloe was in the middle of a photo shoot for the cover of People when she learned about Odom’s emergency. “He’s feeding off her strength right now and desperately wants her there by his side during rehabilitation”.

The hospital and Odom’s relatives have not revealed his prognosis, but the family has hinted at a long road ahead, saying they realize his “continued improvement” won’t be easy. Rumors claimed that he had promised Khloe he wouldn’t touch drugs again, having learned his lesson, and she agreed to give him another chance based on this.
