Lamborghini Centenario Revealed In All Of Its Glory

That explains the Centenario name at least, the run of 20 coupes and 20 roadsters fulfilling that essential hypercar requirement of being a sell out at the point of unveiling.

The Lamborghini Centenario is powered a tweaked version of the 6.5-litre V12 found in the Aventador. The gouge-like air intakes rising from the rocker panels to the roof on each side of the vehicle are particularly bold, and they join the other holes, flaps, and grilles on the auto to take the Centenario’s design from dramatic to extreme. And one of the most powerful cars without a turbo ever. Performance is similarly impressive with 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0 to 300 km/h in 23.5 km/h in 23.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 350 km/h. “It looks to the future while honouring the legend that is Ferruccio Lamborghini”, says Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, in a release.

The wild, all-original body features Lamborghini’s trademark aggression, this time in the form of a deep rear diffuser built into the Centenario’s rear bumper and surrounding its triple exhaust. At low speeds, the back wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front for tighter cornering. Three driving modes – Strada, Sport and Corsa – accompany Lambo’s dynamic steering and adaptive suspension.

In a video made by Lamborghini and uploaded by Shmee150, before it was taken down, the new Lamborghini Centenario has been revealed. The aerodynamic aides also help to improve cooling.

The irregular wheel arches are stuffed with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged and milled alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero tires.

Stopping power is provided by carbon-ceramic brakes, which Lamborghini claims can bring the Centenario to a halt from 186mph in just 290 metres. There’s also a deployable wing that extends 150mm from the body and can change its angle of attack by up to 15 degrees for even more downforce.

Inside, a pair of carbon fiber sports seats features contrast stitching. Also new for the Lamborghini brand is a touchscreen-based infotainment system with Internet connectivity and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. A camera to record laps from the cockpit is optional. The front trunk is created to hold two race helmets.
