Lana Del Rey is answering phone-calls from fans

Only future coquettish Instagrams can tell, but she is doing an in-person signing at a L.A. Urban Outfitters on Thursday, so you can talk to her in actual human form.

The pre-recorded messages featured some poems for the great T.S. Eliot, while others were clips of Lana Del Rey singing but, for a few of those lucky fans, they actually managed to get through to Lana herself. Of course it was.

Singer Lana Del Rey has set up a special hotline for fans and published the number on the cover of her new album.

On Wednesday night, Lana posted an Instagram video inviting fans to give her a call, captioned “Call me”. Numerous songs share repetitive orchestral elements, which makes 14 tracks feel bloated – less so, though, if one treats Honeymoon as a concept album, a 66-minute Quaalude-and-wine dream musical that spans the history of Hollywood and 20th Century cinema (every song makes some reference, big and small, to pop culture), and centres on a tormented love affair, a la Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

That same number features on the album cover, plastered to the side of a StarLine Tours convertible, suggesting Del Rey knows how to manipulate her celebrity power. Wishing you better luck.
