On select Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models, the door latches could malfunction and unexpectedly open closed doors.

This recall stems from a problem with the Range Rover’s keyless entry software, designed by Germany’s Brose Schließsysteme.

Faulty doors and sinking sunroofs led to two separate recalls involving a total of about 66,000 Land Rovers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Additionally, Range Rover Sport models manufactured from February 18, 2013 to March 5, 2015 are impacted by the recall.

Dealers will need to update the software for the keyless entry system. For details about the Land Rover panoramic roof recall, refer to recall number P065, and for questions about the Land Rover door latch recall, refer to recall number P068.

The automaker says the 2012-2013 Land Rover LR4 SUVs were manufactured August 15, 2012, to September 18, 2012. The problem is rooted in the adhesive and primer used by Britain’s NSG Group to attach the LR4’s panoramic roof. There is a risk of the panoramic roof assembly detaching from the model and this will increase the risk of a crash.

In one case, a consumer reported to NHTSA that the sunroof detached from the vehicle while it was in motion.
