Lang Realty gets in the pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
That’s one reason education about the disease is so important.

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is why it’s vital women begin their annual mammograms at the age of 40.
“I think what happened to me is because it had been five years since my last mammogram”, she said.
Funds are also used for research programs that are paying off. Since 1990, there’s been a 30% reduction in breast cancer deaths.
This year 1 in 8 women will be told that they have breast cancer this year.
People with late stage cancer and uncommon cancers are justified in feeling angry and bitter.
Ten months, a mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemo, and dozens of radiation treatments later, Kathy’s never lost her smile, but she’s gained a certain wisdom.

She knows time is far too often the excuse. The campaign also aims at increasing women’s understanding of the importance of regular screening tests/mammograms to empower them to take control over their breast health.

To do this, they are collectively and eagerly committing their time and energy to raise awareness of the disease by educating women about the signs, symptoms and risk factors and urging women to get screened. A recent negative mammogram should not prevent a woman from seeking medical attention for a new breast abnormality, especially a new lump, pain, skin change, or nipple discharge.
