Local source also said the Taliban had resorted to shouting threats and taunts to the soldiers, encouraging them to surrender. Taliban forces first entered Sangin on Sunday. “They are not deployed in a combat role and will not deploy outside the camp”.

Lehmann, who had said in October 2014 that Langer would be his successor, confirmed the development on the Cricket Australia website, but said he would be back for the Sri Lanka tour that follows the tri-series, also involving South Africa, in West Indies.

Taylor, a starter until a two games ago, was the only player aside from backup QB Matt Moore who didn’t play against San Diego. Inman absorbed a helmet-to-helmet hit in that game and had to be removed from the field on a cart, after being immobilized.

Langer, now coaching Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield and the Perth Scorchers in the Twenty20 Big Bash League, will fill the job at worldwide level for the first time.

The Steelers now must win next Sunday and hope that the Bills knock off the Jets or that the Broncos go 0-2 in Weeks 16 and 17. Linebacker Daryl Smith came up with the Ravens first interception since Lardarius Webb picked off Blake Bortles in Week 10.

Langer is one of the most respected and well liked figures in Australian cricket, with his strong work ethic and ability to connect with his players making him a flawless candidate to coach Australia. “I think we let ourselves down this year, 2013 was a different scenario where we were changing the whole setup, last time was disappointing and you’d love to have a crack at that, but you’re guided by results along the way”.

Lehmann will take the job back when Australia will tour Sri Lanka later and Lehmann will spend the time at the Cricket Academy and will see the youngsters for the future.

“There’s no immediate plans at all [to hand over the reins] but it just gives me a longer break”.

“I haven’t got any date in mind, hopefully I’ll go for a while yet”, Lehmann said. Langer seems next in line to replace Lehmann in the long run, and this will give Langer and the players a chance to get to know each other.

“We obviously play the conditions really well at home”.

After the Melbourne Test, Australia play West Indies in the third and final Test in Sydney before heading to New Zealand for two Tests in February. The former Australian opener has in the past worked as a specialist batting coach with the Australian team. “I think his record speaks for itself as a coach”. It’s just a chance to get JL into the system and let him have the reins for a trip. Pat Howard, CA’s Executive General Manager Team Performance, believed that the new role would help Langer develop his coaching skills.
