“The concern I have is that the paid daily sports offering provided by these companies constitute gambling under Idaho law”, said Idaho Attorney General, Lawrence Wasden.

Paxton issued an opinion January 19 stating the paid sites like DraftKings and FanDuel-in contrast to nonpaid sports fantasy leagues-violate Texas gambling prohibitions.
“It is beyond reasonable dispute that daily fantasy leagues involve an element of chance regarding how a selected player will perform on game day”, the opinion states.
The increase in users over the last five years has correlated with the amount of money spent on daily fantasy sports. In the cases of DE and Idaho, Fantasy Aces is still available to daily fantasy sports players, according to Legal Sports Report.
“The most important thing for people to know is that it’s not a bill that bans fantasy sports or going to make it more restrictive”.
“Daily fantasy sports have proven to be popular in NY, but until now have operated with no supervision and no protections for players”, Cuomo said in a statement to announce the bill’s signing on August 3.
The representative, however, may have a bit of wait since the legislature will not be in session until 2017.
DraftKings has filed suit in Dallas County against the AG’s office, asking the court to issue a declaratory judgment that fantasy sports websites are permissible under Texas law.
Raymond, who admitted he disagrees with the attorney general’s non-binding opinion, said he plans to file the bill later this year.
Daily fantasy sports sites have been making enormous growth over the last few years, with sites like DraftKings drawing in tens of thousands of players to take part in the only fully legal online gambling activity.
