Laremy Tunsil, stepfather drop cases against each other

According to a report from the Clarion-Ledger (Mississippi), charges of domestic violence filed against Ole Miss star offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil have been dropped and dismissed.

Tunsil’s attorney, Steven Farese Sr., told The Clarion-Ledger on Friday that both parties agreed to drop domestic violence charges against each other and had signed dismissal forms last week.

Tunsil and Miller’s next listening to is planned to occur on Monday, August around three, in the event the discharge shapes do not happen to be marked by Lafayette County Judge McLarty.

The charges against both men stemmed from a June 25 incident.

The same goes for his stepfather, Lindsey Miller, who was also charged after the altercation with Tunsil in June.

The NCAA allows student-athletes to talk with professional agents as long as they do not accept any sort of gift or payment. Miller alleged that Tunsil received improper benefits from sports agents and during his recruitment by the school, either of which could jeopardize Tunsil’s playing eligibility.

The NCAA is now investigating Tunsil’s case, and representatives from the collegiate athletics governing body have already spoken to Miller and contacted the University of Mississippi.

Rebels coach Hugh Freeze expressed confidence in both Tunsil and his football program at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama.

“We will fully cooperate with whoever wants whatever process is going on”, Freeze said.
