The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado hit southeast of St. George, Kansas, around 2:05 p.m. local time (3:05 p.m. EST) moving Northeast at 30 miles per hour. Omitt added that “the heart” of the tornado at one point was just about a mile south of Chapman, a town that was devastated by a deadly tornado way back in 2008. He says a large propane tank also tipped over.
