Larry Wilmore (briefly) takes over ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’

Before Colbert was able to kick off the show it appeared that Wilmore was going to deliver last night’s opening monologue. Lewis went crowd surfing in the studio audience of the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” following an interview on the program August 31, 2016. Stephen Colbert took over as host, executive producer and writer of THE LATE SHOW on September 8, 2015.

Larry Wilmore is not quite finished with late-night TV. “This is my show, why are you doing the monologue?” “I was on my way to investigate a noise disturbance when Mr. Trump stopped me and asked me how we can clean this city”, Johnson said. Actually, Wilmore came on because he just assumed that whoever left the 11:30 p.m. ET slot on Comedy Central got to host The Late Show.

That’s when Colbert rapidly walked out to the stage, tapped Wilmore on the shoulder, and reclaimed his show. “Those people have nuclear launch codes but they can’t take a fucking joke”, Colbert said, flouting the CBS censors and getting pretty riled up himself. “I am very upset that they did cancel the brother’s show when all the best worst racial stuff started happening”.
