Late interception propels Vikings to 18-11 win over Seattle
The Seahawks are loaded with talent, and there’s a long time until these games are for real.

And even after all that, Boykin almost reenacted his final-minute magic from five days ago in Kansas City.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are now 3-point home favorites versus the Vikings after they opened as a 3.5-point favorite.
The Seattle Seahawks fell to the Minnesota Vikings 18-11 on Thursday, which isn’t the desired outcome but certainly an acceptable one for a preseason game.
But while Walsh’s playoff miss sealed Seattle’s postseason victory back in January, this one turned out to be a tease for Seattle.
OUR PICK: Seattle is an intriguing play for bettors because of Boykin, who also rushed three times for 21 yards in his National Football League preseason debut last week.
Through two preseason games, the Seahawks’ starting offense has played six drives and produced 167 yards on 39 plays (4.3 yards/play) with 11 first downs, one interception, one turnover on downs – and zero points. The Seahawks return with head coach Pete Carroll and franchise quarterback Russell Wilson among other stars this season.
Boykin got Seattle to the Minnesota 5 in the closing seconds, before taking a sack and was unable to connect with Antwan Goodley in the end zone on the final play.
The tally for Seattle on its first three possessions: 20 offensive snaps, 79 net yards in the game’s first 20 minutes. In Week 2? Not so much. Wilson was 5 of 11 for 77 yards.
Hill started as Vikings’ starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater sat out.
The Seattle Seahawks (1-0) are coming from a 17-16 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Blitzing safety Andrew Sendejo hit Wilson 18 yards behind the line, crumpling the invaluable legs of Seattle’s $87.6 million quarterback beneath his body weight and into the turf. The Vikings had 28 yards rushing at halftime. Today’s game will be a chance for many of these players to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.
Pass protection and their offensive line.
Rookie watch: WR Kenny Lawler continues to impress.
Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen caught four passes for 61 yards. He finished with three catches for a team-high 47 yards receiving.
Seahawks: DT Jarran Reed was disruptive against both the Vikings’ starting offense and their reserves.
Guys are going to be fighting for places on the team in that second half, but it probably isn’t a great indicator of the team’s competitive readiness for the season. That was all on Collins.
The NFL preseason is a hard time for evaluation.
Collins had just 13 yards on six carries.
The Seahawks rotated eight linemen in on that defensive line in the first half, including rookie draft pick Quinton Jefferson, end Ryan Robinson, strong-side linebacker candidate Cassius Marsh and tackle Justin Hamilton. SS Kam Chancellor (groin), RB C.J. Prosise (hamstring), WR Kevin Smith (hamstring) and RT J’Marcus Webb (knee) did not play.
Steven Hauschka was short on a 53-yard field goal attempt.
Troymaine Pope and Christine Michael looked good. He’s an undrafted rookie from Jacksonville State who came to Seattle after a tryout in Kansas City. Hill passed to Matt Asiata for a two-point conversion.

But he was overshadowed by Pope, who picked up 86 yards on 10 carries of his own in a breakout performance. With that said, after a strong training camp and an incredibly impressive preseason opener, Michael has made a case to get his fair share of the workload as well.
