The centerfielder continues to tear it up at home, with his two-homer, four-RBI game lifting the Brewers over the Chicago Cubs, 6-1, on a steamy Saturday night.

The blown lead overshadowed another solid start by 31-year-old rookie Guerra, who allowed five hits, four walks and one unearned run over 6 1/3 innings.

“It was very hot, kind of reminded me of playing in Venezuela”, Guerra said through an interpreter.

MARLINS 7, METS 2: Giancarlo Stanton homered and had his first four-hit game since 2012, driving in three runs to give Jose Fernandez all the support he needed, and the Miami Marlins beat the New York Mets 7-2 on Saturday night.

Rockies 4, Braves 3: Jon Gray pitched seven strong innings, and Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story hit two-run homers for Colorado.

He’ll be facing Milwaukee for the second time this season – he allowed a run and struck out five on May 18 – and has a 5-1 record with a 2.95 ERA in nine career starts against the Brewers, including a 1-0 record and 0.90 ERA in his last three.

There were so many fans in Chicago shirts that their boos drowned out cheers from Brewers backers when Braun stepped to the plate in fourth. Luc could have been awarded first when his bat tipped catcher Wilson Contreras glove (oddly reminiscent of his phantom foul tip before a homer in Pittsburgh), but it was missed and Luc fouled off several pitches before driving home Ryan Braun.

Scooter Gennett plated two for the Brewers, while Will Smith took the loss. Reliever Carl Edwards Jr. then retired the Brewers’ 3-4-5 hitters in order, capped by strikeouts of Jonathan Lucroy and Chris Carter on six pitches total (see full recap).

The Cubs have lost three of their last five games Lester has been on the mound, and Guerra is one of those pitchers on a bad team you can actually trust. “It was nearly too much”, Nathan said.

“You guys can decide”, Lackey said. With the lone relief appearance coming as a member of the Detroit Tigers, he was ultimately forced to the sideline after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his ailing right elbow.

“I mean, we’re at the point where we’re going to have to figure out something to accommodate any road request he makes that makes him feel at home, that’s for sure”, joked manager Craig Counsell.

Brewers: RHP Zach Davies (6-4) has turned into one of the team’s top starters in his first full year in the majors. He’s 2-2 with a 2.22 ERA in his four previous outings against Milwaukee, but hasn’t faced the Brewers this season.
