Latest on Lucroy: Indians becoming likely landing spot
Its seems that Jonathan Lucroy may be getting shipped out of Milwaukee.

The Mets found themselves immersed in the Jonathan Lucroy sweepstakes Saturday, with the Milwaukee catcher held out of the Brewers’ lineup, according to manager Craig Counsell, because talks were “progressing”.
Since the Indians are one of eight teams listed as no-trade destinations in Lucroy’s current contract, he will have to approve the deal before it can become reality.
Lucroy needs to waive his no-trade clause to complete the trade.
Bruce, 29, is hitting.268 with 25 home runs and 80 RBI over 96 games for the Reds, but he’s an imperfect fit for the Mets as a lefty-hitting corner outfielder. The deal is not official, as Lucroy has the ability to exercise his no-trade clause and block a trade to Cleveland.
Cleveland has also been connected to relief pitching in the trade market too, so the Indians may have asked the Brewers about including a reliever in the trade package, however the price for both Lucroy and one of Milwaukee’s ace relievers would be substantially higher and that may not happen in this trade.
Since Lucroy is drawing a notable amount of interest and the Brewers are 16.0 games out of first place in the National League Central, Milwaukee will likely move their starting catcher in advance of the deadline.
“I’m not going to comment on any specifics, nothing like that, as much as I’d like to”, he said.
The right-handed hitting 30-year old backstop is batting.300 with a.360 on-base percentage and.844 on-base plus slugging percentage.
As far as how this affects the Indians going further this season, it helps them a lot.
“I’m not playing today”, he said.
Lucroy would add immediate offense to a Cleveland Indians lineup, particularly at the catching position.
With Yan Gomes injured, the Tribe was relying on Roberto Perez and Chris Jimenez. He has a team option worth $5.25 million due for next season.
