For many, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s New Game Plus mode is more than enough reason to delve back into Geralt’s world.

The update is likely to also include a few tweaks and changes to get the game ready for its first proper expansion pack – Hearts of Stone – which arrives next week.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Hearts of Stone launches on October 13, 2015.

Any expansion for The Witcher 3 isn’t going to be like a normal game expansion.

The catch here lies with the captain himself, Olgierd von Everec, who has harnessed the power of immortality.

Earlier last month, CD Projekt RED unveiled that the expansion will feature a new mechanic called “Runewords”, although there isn’t any concrete info on its functionality yet.

Geralt’s adventures seem to take him into a unsafe new land, where he meets Gaunter O’Dim again. Each Runeword will affect a part of the in-game mechanicsa nd allow players to experiment with strategies and tactics. Not that has stopped CD Projekt RED from giving their all in trying. Momot followed up with Eurogamer to say that the Hearts of Stone download will be “considerably smaller”, which points to it being a second and separate download. The developer is also working on Cyberpunk 2077 in collaboration with Mike Pondsmith, the original designer of the pen-and-paper Cyberpunk® futuristic RPG system in which the upcoming game is set.

Will you be picking up this expansion next week?

In terms of difficulty the expansion is recommended for characters at level 30, but you can be anywhere in the main story when you jump into Hearts of Stone. Check out the new trailer for Hearts of Stone that has been just released.
