Lava launches Pixel V1 with Android One

Like we said the Android One devices are meant for emerging markets such as India so its launch in the country isn’t too surprising.

Powered by a powerful 1.3GHz MediaTek Quad-core Processor coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM, the Lava Pixel V1 offers an nearly lag free experience.

The Lava Pixel V1 is the company’s first Android One smartphone, and the first second-generation handset from Google’s Android One series of smartphones.

The Lava Pixel V1 is now listed on MySmartPrice, and features a 5.5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, and 32GB internal memory that can be expanded using a microSD card.

As is the case with Google’s Android One programme, the phone runs on stock Android 5.1 lollipop.

“We are extremely pleased about our association with Google to launch Lava’s first Android One device, the Pixel V1”.

The Pixel V1 packs a 2,650mAh battery and is expected to launch it at INR 11,349 ($177) on Monday.

The new devices are expected to have a bigger display and better specifications.

Last but not the least, the handset will be available in white and gold-silver color options. As a result, the company has partnered with only one brand this time – Lava for the new generation of Android One smartphones. Online it will be exclusively available through Flipkart. It will come equipped with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash.

Connectivity-wise, the Lava Pixel V1 offers 3G HSPA+, dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS and GLONASS, Micro-USB v2. It is backed by a 2560 mAh battery.

In a conversation with TechOne3, Hari Om Rai, Managing Director of Lava worldwide, said that the Pixel V1 Android One smartphone will be soon be manufactured in India under the government’s “Make in India” initiative.
