Testimony is scheduled to resume Monday morning in the trial of the MA teen accused of raping and killing his teacher.

A young girl who spotted then-14-year-old Chism in the bathroom of Danvers High School where the murder allegedly occurred also took the stand, saying she thought she saw someone changing, not a brutal assault.

Chism, wearing a hooded jacket that partially obscures his face, follows her as she walks alone down the hallway. Chism, a few steps behind, pauses at the door and puts on gloves before walking in behind her. Chism pleaded not guilty to aggravated rape, robbery and murder charges in January. He is now being tried as an adult.

Law enforcement officers testified about how Ritzer’s body was found, and how Chism’s fingerprints were on a recycling barrel believed to have been used to move Ritzer’s body.

Chism, who is charged with his teacher’s murder, is shown in the video clip following Ritzer into the women’s restroom.

Chism’s attorney has said his client killed Ritzer but isn’t criminally responsible because he is mentally ill.

State police Detective Lt. Michael Holleran said Ritzer’s body was under leaves in the same area where Chism is seen on video pulling the recycling bin. He said Ritzer asked Chism to stay after class.
