The red carpet set-up for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But the film is also setting records in terms of marketing tie-ins for products trying to hitch themselves to the rejuvenated Star Wars brand.

Just one of the many items that are being sold in conjunction with the release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
There are at least six Twitter accounts dedicated to “Star Wars spoilers”, though not all of them may actually be posting every last detail – and none of them now has more than 110 followers.
Abrams and Lucas posed together for photos, and both men took time to chat with fans before heading into the premiere.
Abrams himself speaks about how The Force Awakens followed on from 1983’s Return of the Jedi, which 30 years ago seemed to have a happy, tidy resolution.

Briton John Boyega plays a character called Finn, portrayed in the trailer as a renegade Stormtrooper, while Oscar Isaac slips into the skin of pilot Poe Dameron.
These fans will have to wait until Thursday to see the film like every other average fan.
“I understand the need for security”, Arnet said. “Force Awakens delivers on every level”.
Fisher, who is reprising her role as Princess Leia from the original Star Wars movies, tweeted from her vehicle that she was stuck in traffic and blamed it on the sniffer dogs who had been called in for the event.
But for a lifelong “Star Wars” fan, it was tough being that close to the premiere and not getting a better look.

Speaking in a new interview on 60 Minutes, Steven Spielberg said: “J.J.is terrified”. One of the participating theaters – the iconic TCL Chinese – hosted the premiere of the original “Star Wars” in 1977.
