“In the meantime, it is important for the NRA not to comment while the investigation is ongoing”. He declined to elaborate on how Castile displayed the weapon or what led up to the deadly traffic stop.

The prosecutor said the shooting highlighted the need for better interactions between police and black residents.
“Their second amendment concern is void of concern for African-Americans”, he said during a press conference.
State officials said they were barred by law from saying whether Castile had a concealed-carry permit. “I understand the gravity of all of that”, he said.

Reynolds’ video was temporarily pulled from her page on Wednesday night – possibly because it was flagged by users or by Facebook’s computers for being bloody and graphic.
In the damning audio, the officer can be heard telling a dispatcher that he is going to pull over a vehicle and check IDs on the occupants because the driver looks like “people that were involved in a robbery”. “Please, officer, don’t tell me that you just did this to him”.

With a post on his personal Facebook page, he is also highlighting the potential power of the company’s relatively new live-streaming function. She says Castile complied.
