Seven lives lost all within days of each other.
Dobratz said he respects the right of people to peacefully protest. Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave. “The police respond to those descriptions”, said Stephens, a former Charlotte, North Carolina, police chief. He is cooperating with investigators, who have interviewed him at length, Kelly said.
The attorney representing Jeronimo Yanez, the St. Anthony, Minn., police officer who fatally shot Philando Castile Wednesday, tells TIME that race was not a factor in the shooting and that Yanez is temporarily not living at home. He died a short time later at a hospital.
Her statements in the video were created to strongly indicate that Castile was simply reaching for his identification in his pocket as instructed by the officer, and that he had told the officer that he had a firearm and was a concealed handgun license holder.
Castile had a goatee, which is visible in the video his girlfriend streamed, and dreadlocks. “In the meantime, it is important for the NRA not to comment while the investigation is ongoing”.
Protesters have focused on the Minnesota governor’s mansion in St. Paul since shortly after the shooting. Castile was shot and killed after a traffic stop by police in Falcon Heights, .
Yanez and Officer Joseph Kauser of the St. Anthony Police Department stopped Castile’s vehicle in Falcon Heights, a suburb of St. Paul the department patrols.
Dispatch: “Copy shots fired Larpenteur and Fry”.
A makeshift memorial of flowers, balloons, signs and chalk messages that included “RIP Philando” has sprung up near where Castile was shot.
The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the shooting.
Ramsey County Attorney John Choi has not decided whether to present the state findings to a grand jury or have his office determine if charges are warranted. “That’s what we’re about”, he said.
Audio recordings obtained by a Minnesota television station appear to capture the traffic stop in which Philando Castile was shot to death by a police officer, shedding some light on an encounter that led to nationwide protests and has been cited as a spark for a gunman’s ambush of police officers in Dallas. Two civilians were also injured.
But the prosecutor said the shooting highlighted the need for better interactions between police and black residents. He was killed by a robot-delivered bomb after a standoff with police. The races of the officers who were shot have not been released.
Brown said at a prayer service Friday that the attack was “well planned” and that the force “won’t rest until we bring everyone involved to justice”.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick sounded off on the Dallas shooting, saying:”All those protesters last night, they turned around and ran the other way expecting the men and women in blue to protect them”.
