Imagine how pleased the Bears must have been in Week 1 this season when Jay Cutler made a almost identical audible to pick up a third-and-3 conversion during a tight game against Green Bay at Soldier Field. Quarterback Philip Rivers has thrown for 300 or more yards in 5 straight games, but the Chargers continue to fall short.

Chicago is 2-5 on the year, but could easily be 4-3 had things gone their way over the last 3 weeks. The Chargers are looking to snap a four-game losing streak on Monday, but face a tough challenge against the Bears.

“We have got to figure out how to win in the fourth quarter”, Cutler said. Jay Cutler will never live up to the hype that surrounded him when he came out of Vanderbilt in 2006, but he has the capability of making big plays. He was inactive for five games this year. He’s the heart of the Bears’ offense, playing terrific football.

It was Cutler, however, who had the last laugh, in the fourth quarter, outdueling the Chargers’ Philip Rivers and smoking out a 22-19 comeback victory.

Rams: Coach Jeff Fisher responded to criticism from Vikings counterpart Mike Zimmer, who accused St. Louis’ Lamarcus Joyner of a cheap shot on the hit that knocked quarterback Teddy Bridgewater from Sunday’s game with a concussion.

In a battle between the NFC and the AFC, the Chargers represent the AFC as they are at the bottom of the AFC West – with the Denver Broncos leading the way in their division. Former Kansas City Chief Steve Fuller then took over the reins, and he started the Week 14 game against San Diego.

The Bears trailed by five when they got the ball back again with 7:53 to go in regulation.

Both teams only have two wins on the season, and another loss for either of these teams will likely end any hope of a playoff run. Matt Forte has a knee injury and was ruled out this week. Langford topped rushing with 46 yards, 12 carries, no touchdowns. Keenan Allen, arguably their best wide receiver so far this season, was placed on season ending injured reserve with a lacerated kidney. Ka’Deem Carey, not Langford, drew the start Monday night with Forte out of the lineup nursing a knee injury. Despite missing Forte, the Bears should be able to move the ball down the field and put a few points on the board.

While this game may not be a Rembrandt defensively, it still should be entertaining.

Perhaps the Chargers’ defense is the flawless opponent for Langford’s debut.

Many view Langford as the future of the Bears’ running attack.

Rivers has 13 touchdown passes and just 3 interceptions over his past 5 games and the team is No. 1 in the National Football League in offense averaging 423 yards per game, but is No. 28 in points allowed on defense at over 28 per game. He will be going up against a bruised and battered defensive front seven for the Chargers, and the rookie running back’s performance may ultimately prove to be the deciding factor in this game.
