Le Clos seals shot at redemption

A Canadian man has gotten a artistic rendering of the now infamous “Phelps Face” – which the Baltimore-native and most decorated Olympic athlete of all time made at South African swimmer Chad le Clos ahead of their semifinal Monday night -tattooed on him.

He expects Le Clos to quit the 200m butterfly to focus on the freestyle events, particularly the blue riband 100m race.

“So I am not going to say what happened and what didn’t happen, it will be disrespectful to Michael and the other two guys”.

Apart from Le Clos, the current pool of swimming talents also feature the 200-mere freestyle victor in Rio Sun Yang, his compatriot Cameron Van De Burgh, 100-meters, breaststroke victor in London and Aussie Mitch Larkin.

“I wanted to just race in the final”.

“He’s going to be a great 100 freestyler”.

Le Clos, looking in higher spirits than he was after finishing fourth in Tuesday’s 200m butterfly, knows that Phelps will be much quicker in the final.

“I said before I started, there is a possibility I could come in and get two golds, two silvers, two fourths”. He did that in the 200 free last night.

“It was very hard to say the least the last few hours, I am in good shape and there is no reason for me to swim that slow but firstly congrats to Michael of course he is a phenomenal champion”, Le Clos said.

“I wasn’t even a big Phelps fan before this, and I’m not really a swim fan”, Fung said. Unlike Phelps, Le Clos does not participate in Backstroke and Individual Medley, which is primarily why he can not ever touch Phelps invincible tally of 21 golds, yet that barely undermines his exploits in Olympics, CommonWealth Games and World Championships.
