Leaders of Nepal’s 3 main political parties discuss formation of new government

It was claimed that the Nepali Congress and the UML had signed in the deal to nominate UML chairman KP Sharma Oli as the new Prime Minister after promulgation of the new constitution.

According to The Himalayan Times, the Unified CPN-Maoist is predicted to play the kingmaker’s position, because the Nepali Congress and the UML will want its help to attain a majority within the Parliament.

The UCPN-M is ready to support an Oli-led government if the Nepali Congress supports the same.

“Prime Minister Modi needs to take stock of the evolving situation and take immediate steps for restoration of this treasured relationship and protection of India’s interests”, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said.

“I am not striving to retain the Prime Minister’s post again as reported in a section of media”, Koirala said.

Kathmandu, October 5 (ANI): Leaders of the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have determined to field their own candidates for the premiership of the subsequent authorities.

He also recalled that Nepal was one of the first ones to be visited by Prime Minister Modi, who has visited the country many times. The community has been continuously protesting against an alleged lack of representation provided to them in the constitution.

The major parties are mulling the proposal of amending the Constitution to address the demands of the agitating parties including ensuring proportionate representation of the Madhesi people in government jobs, the inclusiveness and allocating parliament seats on the basis of population.
