Leading firefighter makes safety plea ahead of Bonfire Night

There will also be a selection of food on offer and treats for the kids at the School Lane event.
It makes sense to go to an organised display – they are certainly more spectacular than anything you could do at home, but more importantly, they are safer.
The doors will be open at the outdoor centre at 5.30pm, with the sky set to be alight from 7.30pm.
HOLME display will take place on Thursday, November 5, in the church gardens. Donations for the village event are still being taken and can be handed to Tom at the Smithy Inn.
Rolleston Scout Group is organising its annual fireworks extravaganza and bonfire for Thursday, November 5. This year’s only official fireworks display in Edinburgh will be held at Meadow Bank Stadium from 6:30 pm, with tickets starting at £6.50.
Charfield Primary School will host its firework display on Friday, November 6. All funds raised go to local good causes. Burger vans and refreshments will be available on site.
Those in charge of organised events have to ensure that their bonfire and fireworks displays are safe.
The SPCA is asking people to be careful with fireworks while continuing its call for a fireworks ban.
Tickets are now on sale at Sainsburys in Bretton, priced at £2 for adults and £1 for children (under 16s).
Gates will open at 6pm and the firework display will start at 7.30pm.
Keep naked flames, including cigarettes, away from fireworks.
The Manchester kennel opened on October 23 a year ago and had only a handful of radios to use throughout the fireworks season.
In previous years, people had brought their own fireworks and let them off at the event, which could be risky and added to the litter.
Around 20,000 people are expected to flock to the bash which includes a large fun fair and which is the largest local authority fireworks display in the country. This will be shown on the box and on the fireworks themselves. Douse with water, bury or place in a metal container.
Sparklers should be lit one at a time whilst wearing gloves and children should always be supervised when using them while youngsters under five should not be allowed to use sparklers.
