Chelsea are now 5th in the PL and will have their work cut out against 4th place Arsenal, who have scored 8 goals in their last two matches with commanding wins against Hull City in the Premier League and also a 4-1 win against Nottingham Forrest in the EFL Cup Third Round.
“I am not happy about the two goals we conceded but I saw a great reaction from the players and this is very important”, he added.
Still yet to start a single game in the Premier League this season, Fabregas doesn’t see his future away from the club.
“I feel he isn’t as effective with his back to goal, he hasn’t got the pace to get around in that 10 position so has to start in one of the 2 deeper roles”.
Okazaki followed his first goal since March with a second in the 34th minute.
Cesc Fabregas has made just three league appearances for Chelsea this season.
“Hopefully this will shut up a few journalists who are chatting rubbish all the time”. “I know what I can do and it’s a lot for this team”.
Leicester had to play extra time with 10 men after Marcin Wasilewski’s 89th-minute dismissal for elbowing Diego Costa, and Fabregas made them pay, finishing a flowing move in the 92nd minute and drilling home again two minutes later.
“I’m seeing him very focused, very concentrated, during the training sessions”.
“I think the key was when we conceded a goal on the last corner of the half, we lost two unsafe men, Luiz and Cahill”.
Everton were dumped out 2-0 at home by Norwich City, while Bournemouth suffered a 3-2 home defeat by Preston North End.
Meanwhile Lucas Perez scored his first Arsenal goals as they reached the fourth round of the competition with a comfortable 4-0 win at Championship side Nottingham Forest. “I knew we had a strong squad”, said the Frenchman.
