League Cup semi-final draw: Manchester City to play Everton
The Reds take on Stoke City in the semi-finals, and Everton face up against Manchester City, hoping to continue their great runs by reaching the Final of the tournament. Manchester City, who are 23/20 favourites to go the whole way, have been paired up with Everton for their next game while Liverpool, 6/4 to win the League Cup after being reinvigorated by Jurgen Klopp, meet Stoke. We were very confident in our finishing and it ended well. Wilfred Bony helped City take an early lead, converting the rebound after Kevin De Bruyne’s shot from distance hit the post on Tuesday, reports Xinhua. Pellegrini said afterwards that Aguero and goalkeeper Joe Hart, who also missed out against Hull, could return at Stoke on Saturday. An all-Merseyside showdown against Everton would surely be the neutral’s choice, but given the ease with which we dismantled Man City two weeks ago, are they the better tie?

“I’ve had a few finals in my life and I know there was never an easy one”. Everton manager Roberto Martinez told Sky Sports: “It is a terrific feeling to get through to the semi-final and a good memory for our football club”. Stoke City’s sole League Cup triumph came in 1971-72.
