League One: Fleetwood announce former Coventry boss Steven Pressley as new manager
League One side Fleetwood Town have appointed Steven Pressley as their new manager.

The club recently sacked Graham Alexander from his role as manager of the club, and they have since been searching for a new boss to take the reins at Highbury.
Pressley, 41, played for Rangers, Coventry, Dundee United, Hearts, Celtic and Randers of Denmark before ending his playing career at Falkirk where he also had his first managerial job, taking charge in February 2010.
Alexander guided Fleetwood to promotion to League One in the 2013/14 season, but the side have struggled this season and now find themselves second from bottom of the table after winning just two of their opening 11 games. I am really pleased with the appointment.
“We truly believe given the stability, the continuality and the facilities we have at Fleetwood Town, we have all ingredients to supply any manager with a great opportunity and we think Steven will be a great success”.
“But there was a time when a few of us looked exhausted, maybe through a lack of games”.
‘We want to play an exciting style of football that will entertain the public. Chris Lucketti and the current backroom staff will remain at the Club.
“It has been very flattering a few of the names that have applied for the position and a reflection of how far the club has progressed”.

Hunter came off the bench to score the equaliser, then rattling the woodwork before Grant blasted home from 20 yards to stun former Fleetwood boss Micky Mellon’s Shrewsbury and book a place in the third round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
