League sets deadline for doping accused to front

If the NFL did suspend the players, it’s likely the NFLPA would file a lawsuit claiming that the league had overstepped its bounds in forcing the players to submit to interrogation and asking for an injunction to stay the suspensions.

If Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers are prepared to talk to National Football League officials about their alleged involvement with performance-enhancing drugs, Green Bay’s star linebackers aren’t saying. It is unknown whether the league will accept these conditions, and a league official had no immediate comment.

“I don’t want to let my teammates down”, he said.

The NFL said it would suspend for an indefinite period four players who are now active and at the center of a probe by the league for performance enhancing drugs, if the players fail to give interviews to the league by August 25. Both Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers face a suspension if they don’t cooperate with the league’s investigation of PED’s (performance enhancing drugs) before August 26.

So I don’t see why we couldn’t have the media there and do a live interview. But the obvious animosity between the NFL and the NFLPA due to the past behavior and poor track record of Goodell and the league office feeds the desire of the players to fight back.

The Buffalo Bills’ patience with Marcell Dareus grew thin on Tuesday, when the team announced the NFL suspended the star defensive tackle for violating the league’s substance abuse policy for the second time in two years.

Harrison, a 14-year veteran, is a longtime leader for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Earlier this week, Harrison reiterated that he is willing to meet at his house with Commissioner Roger Goodell. These players are going to be suspended for not speaking with the league in addition to whatever future suspension comes with the steroid policy.

“They’re asking me about PEDs, so ask away”, Harrison said.

“I mean there’s no way it’s going to cost them [any games], I don’t think, in this case”, Rodgers said.

“I never took a PED in my life and never failed a drug test”. Oh, and he plans on controlling the questions too.

Matthews and Peppers said again at the start of training camp that they were not involved with the clinic and didn’t know who Sly was.

“So I don’t see why we couldn’t have the media there and do a live interview and they can ask their questions and I can answer them and y’all can see whatever evidence it is they say they got or don’t have”, Harrison said. When asked why not get the interview over with, Harrison was blunt in his response.
