Leah Remini is getting some heat for speaking out against Scientology, the religion she spent the majority of her life practicing.

If you haven’t seen Leah Remini: IT’S ALL RELATIVE and aren’t familiar with how serious subjects are dealt with on the show, you’re in for a treat, or a shock depending on how you feel about humor being used as a coping mechanism.
She went on to say there’s some “pretty hard repercussions” for leaving the church, and didn’t want to be forced to sever ties with her daughter if she left down the road but her daughter remained in it.
The second season of Leah Remini It’s All Relative will premiere on Wednesday July 15, at 9pm on TLC.
In the video released on People.com, Remini talked about how leaving quietly has fewer consequences than being vocal about breaking away from the church. “They then go to all of your family and friends and say you have to disconnect from this suppressive person”. “Let’s say in 10 years, if I didn’t want to be connected with the church anymore, my own daughter would be taught to disconnect from me”. “It becomes your mother, your father, everything. You are dependent on the church”, she explains.
And while she continues to speak out against the church, the church is doing the same about Leah.
“If you’re raised in it as a child, you really don’t have loyalty to your family”, she said, while sitting next to her mother. And I was like, “What am I doing?”‘.
‘It was a culmination of things but that was a big one in my mind, ‘ she added.
