Leaked renders show off Fitbit’s upcoming fitness trackers
It looks like Fitbit will have something to announce in the near future.

Fitbit is expected to launch a redesign of its popular Flex and Charge models later this year, and leaked photos provide us with the first glimpse into what the two devices could look like when they see daylight in the next months. The Fitbit Charge 2 also ups the ante with the inclusion of new PurePulse heart-rate tracking technology, which wasn’t featured in the original Fitbit Charge and was instead introduced in a secondary “Fitbit Charge HR” product.
The Charge 2 is much closer to a smartwatch than some of Fitbit’s other products, and it will support “all-day sleep and activity tracking, multi-sport tracking, and interchangeable bands”, according to the leak. Just like the original model, the Flex 2 will come with five different LEDs that will show the status of your current goals, but also help you monitor battery during charging. There is no concrete info as of yet regarding launch dates, but some recently leaked images of the devices suggest November 27 as a possible date for their unveiling, at least. We don’t know what that means exactly, as previous Fitbit devices have been water- and- moist-resistant at most, but the Fitbit Flex 2 might be the first to be fully waterproof.
While Fitbit revealed in its recent earnings call that it would be releasing two new products this year, the company gave no specific date.
“We view these products as evolutionary rather than revolutionary announcements”, writes Kovler, “and anticipate additional new products into 2017 such as a high-end Surge upgrade and perhaps new device form factors such as other wearables or home devices to complement the Aria scale (e.g. blood pressure monitoring)”.
