Leave ISIS (Books & Gifts) Alone
Harrison, who has owned the shop since 1997, has learned to put up with the incidents over the years, and says his shop still is seeing healthy sales. Now, the store’s owners have a message for the world: Please leave ISIS (Books & Gifts) alone.

Harrison says the store has been around since 1980, selling books and gifts related to spirituality and healing. A store window was smashed after the terrorist attacks in Paris.
“We deliberately named our store Isis because of our respect for the Egyptian goddess”.
Co-owner Jeff Harrison of the Isis Books and Gifts store poses for a photo at the business Wednesday, November 18, 2015, in Englewood, Colo.
Jeff Harrison said he’s heard from other businesses with “Isis” in their names, asking if they planned to change. “Another time, someone came in with a large rock to destroy our glass front door, which had to be replaced”, Charboneau-Harrison said.

Despite its setbacks, though, ISIS (Books & Gifts) is, as always, determined to persevere, saying that “for now, we are definitely sticking with the name”. She believes those who have damaged the store’s property do not understand the origin of its name.
