Today Al-Alam correspondent according to Lebanon intelligence report that Salafist fugitive cleric Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir arrested in Beirut airport.

Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir was detained at Beirut’s Rafik Hariri global Airport as he was trying to flee the country in a disguise and a forged passport.
Since his arrest, the wife of al-Assir staged a protest in Sidon near the Bahaa Eddine mosque, calling on the release of her husband hours after his arrest.
The fighting, which centred on the Abra district in the eastern outskirts of Sidon, spread quickly, wounding dozens of civilians and paralysing much of the coastal city.
He faces charges including forming a terrorist organisation and inciting violence against the army.
In 2014, prosecutors sought the death sentences for Assir and 53 others, including singer-turned-fundamentalist Fadel Shaker.
Witnesses at the time said machine guns and rockets were used – and when the army went to Mr Assir’s compound, it found heavy weapons and military-style uniforms.
Lebanon by exacerbating sectarian tensions between its Sunni and Shi’ite communities.
The cleric organised followers to fight alongside rebels in Syria in response to Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shia group which backs President Bashar al-Assad.
