His deal is reportedly for three years and worth $100 million. The new contract will make him the highest paid player in the National Basketball Association for the first time in his career at $31M this upcoming season.

“Why does LeBron keep signing short deals”, one might ask.

James made the announcement via Twitter Thursday, telling Bleacher Report’s the Uninterrupted that he was re-signing with “the land”. James was originally selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Cavaliers all the way back in 2003, and he remained in Cleveland through the 2009-2010 season before infamously taking his talents to the Miami Heat.

Like when James led the Cavs back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals against a 73-win regular season team with the league’s first unanimous MVP. “I can’t be more excited than this opportunity once again, man, to defend our crown, defend our title”.

James announced on Uninterruped he was re-signing with the Cavs, saying past year “was magical and inspiring”. “I just can’t wait to get the group back together”.

He exercised his player opt-out this offseason on a contract that would have paid him $21.6m next year before agreeing to the record deal.

About all that’s left is to sign starting shooting guard J.R. Smith, an unrestricted free agent.
