LeBron tells SI he’s motivated by ‘ghost’ of Michael Jordan
You would think that helping his hometown end a 52-year title drought would allow LeBron James to take his foot off the gas. Speaking at a camp yesterday, Michael Jordan isn’t quite ready to pass the Looney Tunes off to his essential successor.

“My motivation is this ghost I’m chasing”, James told SI in an excellent cover story by Lee Jenkins.
LeBron James is already considered one of the greatest basketball players ever and possibly the best of his generation. That’s because Kevin Durant, arguably a top-five player in the league, made a decision to leave the team he’d played for his entire career and join the Golden State Warriors-making the team the Cavs had just dispatched in the Finals, unthinkably, even better.
His response may be surprising to many, but Griffin is sponsored by Jordan’s brand, so it’s possible “His Airness” may be a tad biased.
This year, LeBron James won his first National Basketball Association championship for the Cleveland Cavaliers. If you’ve seen ‘Trainwreck, ‘ you know James also is a surprisingly solid actor.
During the 2015 NBA Finals, James averaged 35.8 points per game, but was constantly bothered by his lack of efficiency, especially after shooting just 39.8 percent from the field and 31 percent from three-point range.
Ever. And since his secret motivation after leaving Miami to win a championship in Cleveland, LeBron seems to be taking on the comparison by many in the media and fans alike when he said on Tuesday morning that he’s motivated by chasing Jordan’s “ghost”.
Can James ever go past Jordan? “Let it go, play hard, be focused, follow my lead, and I’ll make sure you get home for a Game 6”, he wrote.
James remains a free agent for unknown reasons but is expected to re-sign soon with the Cavaliers.
But relaxing for Bron Bron is still a bit crazed as he’s been getting up at 5 a.m.to begin his workouts.

The actor/filmmaker let it all out on ESPN’s SportsNation Tuesday night when the conversation turned to LeBron’s recent remarks in a Sports Illustrated interview.
