Leeds United close in on deal for Bristol City defender Luke Ayling
Leeds United have completed the signing of Bristol City defender Luke Ayling on a three-year deal, the club have confirmed.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim Ayling is close to agreeing a three-year deal with the Elland Road club.
Leeds started the Championship season in inauspicious fashion last weekend, succumbing to defensive errors at Loftus Road, and a tough afternoon was compounded by a hamstring suffered by first-choice right-back Gaetano Berardi.
But it seems Brendan Rodgers won’t be adding Ayling to his squad, who are just two games away from confirming their place in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
He joined Bristol in 2014 and has since made 80 appearances for the club and won the League One title in 2015. Liam Cooper missed much of pre-season with a calf strain.
Leeds are due to host Birmingham City in a Championship fixture on Saturday and it remains to be seen whether Ayling is involved.
Ayling started his career at Arsenal, alongside Bartley in the Gunners’ youth-team ranks, but he began his professional career in earnest at Yeovil Town in 2010.

Although the defender was out of contract when he left Huish Park, because he was under the age of 24 at the time and the Glovers had offered him an improved deal, the Robins were obliged to pay a training and development fee to the South Somerset club.
