‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Power Rangers’ actress set for Stargirl

A new hero is coming to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Legends of Tomorrow won’t mark her live-action debut though, as Britt Irvin played the character in several episodes of Smallville. Also known as Courtney Whitmore, Stargirl receives her stellar powers by wielding Starman’s Cosmic Staff and donning the Cosmic Converter Belt which gives her agility and enhanced reflexes. On the show, she is one of the confirmed members of the Justice Society of America, which also includes Commander Steel (Matthew McCaull) Obsidian, Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Dr. Mid-Nite and Hourman (Patrick J. Adams). Grey, who is also set to appear in the upcoming Power Rangers reboot, joins a growing roster of new faces for Legends of Tomorrow’s sophomore season, returning to the CW on October 13. Stargirl was created by DC Entertainment President & Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and introduced in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.

If nothing else, it should be interesting to see what sort of impact that has on the character when Legends of Tomorrow returns to The CW this Fall. Playing Amanda, the Canadian actress began her film career back in 2013 when she landed a role in Cinemanovels.
